Day 6 journal- Bohol Philippines

August 24, 2016

I wake up very excited to go to a white sand beach with warm water. What can get better than that? We walk up the street and eat a lot of bread. Then we walked farther to the beach. We make sand castles and splash around in the waves. We also found a starfish on the sand. My siblings and I held it and put it back in the ocean.  We played  for 3 1/2 hours until we walked away with painful sunburns. We went home and spent the rest of the day lounging around, trying to forget about our sunburns.

Day 5 journal- Bohol Philippines

My first boat ride on an air section of a boat. I felt seasick even though we haven’t even gotten on the boat. When the boat starts I don’t feel seasick. I imagine about things and play games. We got to the dock and then a whole bunch of people started asking us, “Taxi sir? Taxi miss? Go on a tour!” My dad finally gave in and we went and saw the blood compact. I was angry 😡. I wanted to go to the white sand beaches. The blood compact  was about two men drinking their blood in wine. GROSS!  Then we went to the Baclayan Church. It was boring. Then we went to a hanging bridge made out of bamboo. It was awesome! We drove through a forest and took photos. We then went to see the tarseirs. Tarseiers are monkeys. We went to a butterfly garden and then saw the famous chocolate hills. Finally we drove like two hours to our hotel.  We kept driving past our hotel because it was off the rode. There was a little path to it.

Day 4 journal- Cebu Philippines

August 22, 2016

Today I wake up early, unlike yesterday. I read and then I play legos. Then we took a two hour taxi ride to, Simala Shrine. We bought crackers and sodas. We also got a peanut snack called, Happy. It started sprinkling as we ascended the stairs that lead to the shrine. The was glass figures everywhere and it said “we love Mama Mary” on big posters on the walls. Afterwards we bought more snacks and hopped back in our taxi. We rode two hours back home. We were going to go swimming but it started to rain. BUMMER!

Day two journal- Cebu, Philippines

August 20, 2016

A hot day in August I woke up to find everybody was up. I looked at my watch to find that it was 10:00 am. “Funny!” I think, “I never sleep in.” Then to top off my crazy morning I ate chicken flavored noodles for breakfast. Our plan today was to tour the five story mall a couple minutes drive away from our place. The mall had an ice skating rink, a bowling alley, and a movie theatre. Then, when we were going to leave, we watched the weirdest concert ever. Everyone was in funky clothing and had weird wigs. Then we checked the internet store to see if there was any way to help our helpless internet. Soon, after we finally left and went swimming.

Day one journal entry- Cebu, Philippines

August 19, 2016

Feels weird being in a foreign country. That’s probably because we are the only white people walking down the streets and everyone is so fascinated in us. I thought the Philippines would be cool and not so dirty. I thought we would be doing really fun stuff and not walking through the streets with my clothes sticking to me like glue. That leads me to complaint number two, the humidity. It’s supposed to be 80 but with the added humidity it feels like 100. When we come home my feet are as black as the night sky without stars. I think sarcastically “what a wonderful day!” The whole day I just wanted to go swimming. Instead my parents dragged me all over the mall, the most boring church in the history of the world. It was so boring I can’t even remember the name of it. We also were dragged through a museum there was no air conditioning and a free tour guide that talked for hours on everything, single, tiny, thing.

Worst day ever!

The start of our journey

It was one day and three months ago that I drove two hours from St. George, Utah to Las Vegas, Nevada. There I boarded a plane that was going to go to San Francisco, California. It had been a very long time since I had flown and I was very disturbed by the fact that we could crash. I thought it took a very long time to get through the security and other things. The plane was nice and comfortable. They served us drinks and the chairs had tvs to play games on. It wasn’t very long before we landed and got off. In San Francisco we had a six hour layover. Man was that boring! We played on a playground that was in pretty bad shape. The only thing that worked was spinning wheel that you sit on and spin. You can only do that for so long. We lounged around in the waiting area, doing nothing but sit and play on devices, we ate pizza for dinner and dropped off our bags at the baggage check. We then walked around the whole airport to find the terminal gate we were to fly out of. Our flight was not until 1:00 am and so we sat on a bench outside the gate and took a short nap. I kept trying to stay awake but, man, that is hard. I woke up just in time to board the plane. I got on the plane and then got very anxious. So anxious I didn’t fall asleep until 2:30 am and then I woke up at 6:00 am. Not very much sleep. I was terribly hungry when I woke up, but the breakfast wasn’t until 10:00. Also, the food was gross. I only ate the yogurt. Then, we got off the plane and got our bags. When we got out of the airport it wasn’t hard to find a taxi to our house, however, it took a despicable amount of time to get there. The traffic was terrible. As we drove to the house all I could think about was how much fun I would have and how little problems we would have.  I think I jinx myself, a lot.
